Practice Policy

  • Appointments

    Our practices run on an appointment system, however we aim to have "on the day" appointments available for our busier days as well as walk in appointments for patients who require a doctor at short notice. Urgent appointments and emergencies will always be allocated to our practice nurse for triage and will be seen by a doctor.

  • Telephone access

    Our administrative and nursing staff may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If it is a medical enquiry, and the nurse is with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advise you when it is likely that the nurse will return your call. Doctors do not take general calls, and will only return a call if medically necessary, or if they have requested you to call and follow up on something relating to your immediate health care. All urgent calls will be put through to the practice nurse. Your call will always be put through to the doctor in an emergency.

  • Email Communication

    Our emails are not monitored regularly and should not be used in the case of an Emergency. Clinical information is not shared via email unless patient consent has been provided. All emails are read by reception distributed to the correct member of staff such as your doctor, the practice nurse or management. Page Maker including versions.

  • Recalls

    To protect your privacy, no results are given over the phone. You will be notified by your doctor if your results need urgent attention.

  • Reminder System

    Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. We also participate in state/territory reminder systems. If not do not wish to be part of these systems please let your doctor or receptionists know. Page Maker including versions.

  • Home Visits

    These are available upon request by your regular GP if appropriate and deemed medically necessary.

  • Your rights, Complaints and Suggestions

    We encourage all patients to leave feedback for us regarding your visit and endeavour to improve our services using this feedback. If you have any complaints or suggestions we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or receptionist. You may prefer to write in our suggestion box. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. However, if you wish to take the matter further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside the surgery contact the Healthcare Complaints Commission, details over the page.
